American Transcendentalism, Nonconformity.

"Abandoning your uniqueness is equivalent to dying." - Ryo Yamada.

Below Many Exploding Suns album cover

One of my favorite albums, GOREGOREGORE’s “Below Many Exploding Suns”, is a great piece of nonconformity. Even the album art, is just the creators hand grabbing air outside of their cars window. Every single song in the album constantly changes style and BPM, it isn’t for everyone but it is one of the most unique albums I have ever heard. The songs mixes Breakcore, radio transmissions, and bits of Japanese TV, it culminates into a very entertaining listening experience. In my opinion, some level of conformity is needed to have a functioning society, but if we all gave up our uniqueness, in my opinion there would be no point in continuing said society. I think the quote above is self evident enough of my opinion on things. I think too many people nowadays are settling for less than they deserve, look at American political parties; They are a mixed bag of ideas that constantly fight each other never making any progress. All transcendentalist’s knew this, which is why in my opinion they doubted society so much. I think that if many Americans were allowed to have their own parties, and not be forced into accepting ideologies they don’t agree with they would be a lot happier. In my opinion this would make our society would also be a lot more functional and democratic. A lot of these things can extend to peoples personal lives too, how many don’t seek out new experiences and just stay in the line of life? I think that many would be much more happy and fulfilled if they were trusted to make up their mind on topics, instead of just waiting for the latest article from a biased source on it. I think that this album, through every bit of it, screams how much it wants to be free, how it isn’t the same as everyone else, and how it won't stay in the line. It is one of my favorite examples on

American transcendentalism Self-Reliance in the modern age.

"Live free or die" -Jstark1809

FGC9

Many people around the world seek true freedom not through voting rights or any sort of social programs, but through the right to bear arms. Jstark was one of these people. Born in germany where firearms are tightly controlled and very hard to access, he decided to build his own. Over the course of several years and his military service, he designed the FGC9 MK2. The weapon is a semiautomatic 9mm PCC, all of it's components can be made in a garage with hand tools for under 500 USD. So far the weapon has been spotted anywhere from Ukraine to Burma, with freedom fighters finding it's common ammunition and reliability to be of great help.

Simplified life and Importance of nature.

"There's a land where the mountains are nameless, And the rivers all run God knows where; There are lives that are erring and aimless, And deaths that just hang by a hair; There are hardships that nobody reckons; There are valleys unpeopled and still; There's a land — oh, it beckons and beckons, And I want to go back — and I will." -Robert Service.

Homestead

Many Americans are returning to rural areas. Over the past 20 years, the amount living in those areas has slowly increased. Slowly many are starting to find the city to much to bear. This group of people often forage, hunt, and farm most if not all of their food. Many also believe that a connection to nature is not only necessary, but is impossible to live without. This is why in my opinion, these people fiercly represent a simplified life and the importance of nature of American Transcendentalism. Whether you think its really all that much better, is up to you.

Intuition over reason.

"Am I really going to go into combat without wearing armor?" -MyerFlyer

Myerflyer

Myerflyer is a small gun channel operating in a niche of a niche. This niche largely believes that since in most situations armor in just dead weight, there in zero point in wearing any. But Myer began to slowly question this, eventually he made the controversial choice of choosing intuition over reason and started wearing armor. This decision has since sent the niche into a civil war, one side not wanting to die immediately, and the other believing that sustainment is better in the long run. This is why I believe that this community and man represent intuition over reason.
